Is This A scam?

My aunt was contacted by a company who told her she will get rich by renting out her timeshare, she recieved a quit claim deed in the mail for her to sign with witnesses present they mention she'd be receiving 10.00 for transfer of property which she'd be relinquishing all rights to. In addition they asked her for her credit card number and she gave to them over the phone. I told her to cancel her card A.S.A.P. Does this sound like a scam?

How does this work for couples that break up.

Me and my Ex-boyfriend bought a house together. A year later we are breaking up. He wants me to sign a quit claim deed. What does that mean for me. I have three kids and don't really have anywhere else to go. Will I receive any money to start over if I sign these papers. I just want what is rightfully mine no more no less. I worked very hard to get this house right along with him.

Identity Theft

How long does it take one to get information on filing a dispute if you are disputing it directly to the creditor itself. My nephew went into sears to apply for a card, he was told that he should go immediately to the police station that someone is using his social security number and has an account set up under his name. So he did, well the police had all the wrong information on him also, under his real social security number, this other person has a whole history of criminal activity. This kid is only 20 and his credit is shot at no fault of his own. He is disputing the card with sears, but how long will it take him to get results? Has anyone had identity theft happen before?

What options do I have after signing quitclaim on my house i

My ex convinced me that it would be in andquot;ourandquot; best interests if I signed over the house to him. The house needed some work in order for it to sell per our divorce agreement. His dad would loan him the money if my name was not on the deed and that was the only loan option available due to poor credit history. This happened in May 2007. Recently, I was denied a loan because my name is still on the mortgage! I had no idea; I assumed signing the quitclaim would release me from the mortgage. Unfortunately, I could not afford to consult an attorney prior to signing. My ex is currently behind in the mortgage payments and I am terrified of what might happen since my name is not on the deed. What can I do?

Help! i dont know how my credit rating got so low?

I have just checked my credit file and found i have a credit score of 290 - it said the negative factor on this is mainly as several lenders have looked at my file in the past 3 months, a total of 11! I recognise all of the companies who have searched me but one is showing four times and another is showing three times? The dates differ by a few days but they are the same companies? I have applied for a lot of credit recently. But i got declined for credit the first ever time i applied - so my score must have been bad then for some reason but now all these searches must have made it worse. Is it possible to remove these searches? How can the credit score be improved?
